The openly queer actress has taken to social media over the past month to use her platform to make a change. Patten has raised awareness by sharing powerful posts about protests for racial equality in the past. Recently, she shared posts about the protests in New York City, and by doing so, has initiated a strong call to action.
Patten is a vocal ally, urging her fans to join her in amplifying the voices of Black trans people. Aside from her online and physical presence in the protests, Patten also dedicated her Drama Desk award speech to the cause by taking the Broadway Advocacy Coalition Pledge.
