The Tony-nominated actress is a Broadway triple threat, and you won’t want to miss a single moment of her spectacular career.

Actress Ariana DeBose has been rocking Broadway stages since 2011. Her theater credits include hits like Bring It OnMotown: The Musical, and Pippin. You may have seen her grace your screen as part of the original Broadway cast of Hamilton.

As part of the Hamilton ensemble, DeBose played the secret character of The Bullet, signifying death throughout the musical. It’s safe to say that fans are excited to finally watch her perform her iconic choreography in Disney+.

This year is also a big one for DeBose, as her two film debuts are currently scheduled for 2020. She will be playing Anita in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, the most anticipated musical film of recent years. Being a talented dancer and actress, DeBose is bound to deliver one of the most incredible performances of “America” ever witnessed.

DeBose is also set to star in Ryan Murphy’s The Prom, a film based on the 2018 Broadway musical. She will be playing Alyssa Greene, a closeted teenager whose girlfriend, Emma, desperately fights to be able to attend prom with her.

“I’m excited by the potential conversations that each work could spark,” DeBose shared in an interview with Just Jared. “There’s so much to talk about in our world right now! I’m also just thrilled to see more movie musicals in the world with diverse casts.”

Aside from being a phenomenal artist, DeBose uses her platform for good. She has often shared her experiences as a queer Afro-Latina woman in the entertainment industry, as well as many of the challenges she faced. She also constantly shows support for the LGBTQ+, Black, and Brown communities, to name a few.

In this past month, as protesters around the country fought for the end of racism since George Floyd’s death, DeBose used her voice to promote organizations, ask fans to donate, and share resources. She has also demanded justice for victims like Breonna Taylor, Elijah McClain, and Vanessa Guillen.

As an artist, DeBose has also shared with fans ways that they can help support the arts, such as calling senators or donating to funds. With many venues still closed due to COVID-19, artists from all fields have been left out of work and are struggling financially.

A phenomenon in theatre and in film, DeBose has proven to be one of the most talented artists of her generation, and she doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
