Hair Love examines the relationship between an African-American father and his daughter Zuri. Throughout the short film, it shows the father attempting to style Zuri’s hair while his wife is undergoing chemotherapy. Hair Love received heartwarming responses from critics and audiences alike, and many praised the representation of textured Black hair portrayed in the film.
We will continue to see the family dynamic of the Young family which includes millennial parents Stephen and Angela, along with their daughter Zuri and her pet cat Rocky. Throughout the season, we’ll see how the Youngs juggle life with common themes such as marriage, parenthood, social issues, careers, and generation gaps.
Hair Love deeply touched our hearts and Young Love will surely do the same. We will be on the lookout for more news of this series, including the premiere date, and hope you will be, too.
