Sabrina Carpenter and Liza Koshy Star in Dance Comedy ‘Work It’ to Be Released Aug 7
Sabrina Carpenter and Liza Koshy star in the coming of age dance comedy Work It available for streaming on Netflix Aug 7.
This feel-good comedy tells the story of Quinn Ackerman, played by Carpenter, a clumsy teenage girl who is rejected by her school’s dance team. Determined to gain admission into her dream college, Duke University, Ackerman forms her own dance team with other misfits to compete in a national dance championship.
In addition to Carpenter and Koshy, the film also features Keiynan Lonsdale (The Flash), Drew Ray Tanner (Riverdale), Michelle Buteau (Always Be My Maybe), and Jordan Fisher (Rent Live!). Carpenter and Alicia Keys are both credited as producers. Choreography is by Aakomon Jones, whose previous credits include choreographing Pitch Perfect and Black Panther.
Joey King, star of Netflix’s The Kissing Booth, showed her excitement for the film.
“Counting the mf days,” King commented on Carpenter’s Instagram post promoting Work It.
Sabrina Carpenter recently starred in Darren Criss’s musical comedy series Royalties on Quibi and in the drama film The Short History of the Long Road. Liza Koshy just celebrated the fifth anniversary of her YouTube channel.
