Virgil Abloh has recently announced that he raised 1 million dollars through the Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund, to help Black students succeed in the fashion industry as he did. In addition, the organization will also offer mentorship and career services. Virgil teamed up with the Fashion Scholarship Fund to provide this opportunity for Black Students. This organization is a nonprofit that helps to nurture and honor the future of fashion in the U.S. Each year, the Fashion Scholarship Fund awards students in an arrangement of fields within the fashion industry, from marketing to design or analytics.

In a statement, Abloh explained his desired to help students: “I’ve always been passionate about giving the next generation of students the same foundation for success that was given to me (…) that’s why I’m excited to launch this Fund in partnership with the FSF ( Fashion Scholarship Fund), which has an outstanding track record of helping college students achieve successful careers.”

The mission statement of the fund is to “foster equity and inclusion within the fashion industry by providing scholarships to students of academic promise of Black, African-American, or African descent.” This scholarship fund will allow many Black students to follow their dream in fashion, and this is a great initiative from the top designer of Louis Vuitton!
