Air Jordan and Dior Have Released a New Limited-Edition Sneaker Collaboration
Air Jordan and Dior have teamed up to create a new limited-edition sneaker.
Named AirDior, this pair of shoes was previewed at the Dior pre-fall 2020 fashion show in Miami. The shoe features Air Jordan’s Air Jordan 1 sneaker and coincides with the Air Jordan’s 35th anniversary. This new collaboration was supposed to be released in April but with the Coronavirus outbreak, the release was delayed. The collaboration was released a couple of months later, on June 25, and sneaker lovers are obsessed.

In a statement, the Dior designer said, “I chose to collaborate with Jordan brand because Christian Dior collaborated with the best American brands of his era (…) I love mixing together different worlds, different ideas – Dior and Jordan Brand are both emblematic of absolute excellence in their fields. To bring them together in this special collaboration is to propose something exciting and truly new.”

Unfortunately for many admirers of the collab, the brand only released 8,500 pairs, reportedly because the Air Jordan debuted in 1985. Dior also released 4,700 low-top versions of the sneaker. Many of them were pre-ordered and sent to the brand’s clients, but according to CEO and Chairman of Christian Dior Couture Pietro Beccari, 5 million people signed up to try to purchase the shoes. The low-tops cost $2,000 and the high-tops cost $2,200.
While many will not be able to score this awesome and limited collab, it can still be fun to daydream about all of the cool looks this collab could’ve inspired.
