On July 10th, Chrissy Teigen made it very clear that she will no longer use Goya brand products.

Last week the CEO Robert Unanue of Goya, a Hispanic-owned food company, attended a press conference on Hispanic prosperity at the White House. Unanue gave his support to President Trump and said, “We’re all truly blessed to have a leader like President Trump who is a builder (…) And so we have an incredible builder. And we pray. We pray for our leadership, our president, and we pray for our country, that we will continue to prosper and grow.” Since then many celebs like Chrissy Teigen have declared boycotting the brand.

The video made the #BoycottGoya going viral, and people are now boycotting the brand. Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio Cortez is encouraging people to avoid buying Goya, along with her many other leaders have shown their support the boycott. CEO Robert Unanue said he would not apologize for praising President Trump, “I’m not apologizing for saying — and especially when you’re called by the president of the United States — you’re gonna say (…) no I’m sorry I’m busy no thank you?”

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Goya has donated more than 300,000 pounds of food, equating to more than 250,000 meals. These recent statements of the CEO have faced much backlash, and we hope to see some changes made for the betterment of the company.
