Serena Williams Launches New Jewelry Collection to Support Black Businesses
Serena Williams announced her new limited edition jewelry collection, Unstoppable.
In 2019, Serena Williams created her first jewelry line and now she has designed a new collection to support Black businesses. The name of this collection is a reference to her career, Unstoppable. Unstoppable is composed of two pieces of jewelry: a bracelet and a necklace, both crafted from sterling silver and molded into a diamond accent-encrusted circle. Each item costs $100. The diamond is, “meant to reflect Serena’s positivity and determination, and to inspire her fans and followers also to be Unstoppable.”
To create this collection, Serena teamed up with a diamond manufacturer, K.P. Sanghvi. Necklaces and bracelets are ethically-sourced and made with conflict-free diamonds to respect Serena’s wishes. Plus, from July 16 to August 5, the brand will donate 100 percent of proceeds to the Opportunity Fund’s Small Business Relief Fund, an organization that supports small businesses impacted by recent events. Luz Urrutia, CEO of the fund explained in a statement that “more than 40 percent of Black-owned businesses closing down permanently due to the financial crisis precipitated by COVID-19.”
