Actor Jacob Elordi Gets Candid About Playing High School Roles
Jacob Elordi admits playing teenagers and high schoolers are tiring, and he’s looking forward to playing adult roles in the near future.
The 23-year-old actor gained superstar status, especially among teenagers after the release of the popular 2018 Netflix romance comedy film, The Kissing Booth. Elordi played Noah Flynn, the high school jock and love interest of Elle (played by Joey King). Elordi found success again by playing Nate, the main antagonist in the hit HBO teen drama, Euphoria.
In a recent interview with GQ Australia, Elordi expressed his thankfulness for the success he has experienced, but notes that he’s growing out of the typical high school roles. He adds, “Nothing against that but I’ve sort of done it and it would be really hard for me to find joy in that. I’m also getting older now and I’m starting to look older, so to keep going back to high school is kind of taxing.”
But Elordi is grateful for the opportunities offered to him and credits his role on Euphoria helped him understand the abusive nature of Nate better and open up creative conversations with his fellow cast members. He said, “It put me on the radar, that I could maybe act, and it allowed me to sit down with these guys whose work I admire – they knew my work and they had enjoyed it. So I could have these really adult, creative conversations with like-minded people.”
Elordi’s acting skills certainly paid off and many fans truly appreciate his passion for playing these roles. Don’t forget to catch a glimpse of Elrodi playing a serious adult role in the upcoming film Deep Water, which will be released in November this year.
