Listen to Lil Skies and Noah Cyrus’s New Iconic Remix of Lund’s Song, ‘Broken’
On July 17, 2020, Noah Cyrus and Lil Skies dropped a remix of “Broken,” which Lund originally released in 2016.
In 2016, Robert Lund quickly gained traction on SoundCloud for his songs “Broken” and “Alone,” both of which have gained tens of thousands of likes. Recently, Lund also signed to Republic Records, a major record label owned by Universal Music Group. In the remix, Cyrus’s harmonies and Lil Skies’s rapping style adds to the three-dimensionality of “Broken.”
Cyrus wrote her verse into the remix, which gave it more of a dreamlike beat and emphasized its genre-less style. She sings, Run me over, no regrets / Bury me alive or just kill me / ‘Cause honestly, I’m tired of just feeling / Just another black hole-feeling / ‘Cause there’s shit I’ve seen, that I can’t forget.” Lil Skies continues, “I ain’t really wanna put you in the friend zone / Why you always feel alone when your friend’s home? / Life’s hard, everybody see cloudy days.

In the past months, Lil Skies has been less active on social media due to him taking time off to embrace fatherhood with the birth of his son, Ki. In only a couple of days, the “Broken” remix has accumulated 60,000 views on YouTube. Lund wrote the original track after a hurtful breakup with a lover, which ended because both were cheating.
In “Broken,” Lund also contemplated death, concluding that it will not fix the issues and only add pain. Lund sings We cannot choose the things that will happen to us, but we can choose the attitude we take towards anything that happens. Listen to the full “Broken” remix down below.
While it was the first collaboration between Noah Cyrus, Lund, and Lil Skies, we hope to hear more of their music soon.
