Megan Thee Stallion Opens up About Shooting Incident in Recent Instagram Live Session
The rapper took to Instagram Live and spoke to fans about her recovery from the shooting incident on July 12.
On July 12, Megan Thee Stallion, an unidentified friend and rapper Tory Lanez were pulled over by police, and Lanez was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. Initial reports claimed that Megan had cut her feet on broken glass and was on her way to the hospital, but later told investigators that she had been shot in the feet. TMZ had made reports that Lanez allegedly opened fire on Megan after an argument with her and her friend.
After posting a breathtaking photo wearing a sparkly white top and styled hair, she went on Instagram Live and was holding back tears while she thanked fans for the good wishes and addressed critics about the situation.
“I really just wanted to get on here and I’m smiling even though a lot of things have been you know making me not smile, but I’m back. I see a lot of people painting fake a** narratives and making up stories, but I see a lot of people being very supportive and sending prayers, and I really appreciate that.” After the incident, fans had taken to social media to wish her well.
She revealed that she was shot in both feet and had to undergo surgery. The rapper suddenly got tearful and fanned herself as she spoke more details about the incident. “It was just the worst experience of my life, and it’s not funny, it’s nothing to joke about and nothing for y’all to go and be making fake stories about. I didn’t put my hands on nobody, I didn’t deserve to get shot.”
She then discussed why she did not tell police what had happened, saying “I was not protecting anybody, I just wasn’t ready to speak.” Following the recent events, there have been many issues involving jokes being made about the situation. She says that she doesn’t need to post her entire life as a diary onto social media and shuts down critics. “How would you feel if it was your girlfriend or mom or best friend? Would you be cracking jokes then?” the rapper added.
Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own. It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.
