The Original Cast of ‘Hamilton’ Is Hosting a Virtual Fundraiser to Raise Money for Several Foundations
The original cast of Broadway’s smash hit and Disney+’s newest release, Hamilton, will be hosting a virtual fundraiser called HAM4CHANGE on August 1st.
Many cast members took to their social media this week to share the news with fans in hopes of stirring up buzz for the event. The fundraiser will be to raise money for several foundations that promote the Black Lives Matter movement. Some of the foundations include the African American Policy Forum, Color of Change, and BEAM (Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective). The event is also raising money to promote voting with foundations such as When We All Vote.
Renee Elise Goldsberry, who originated the role of Angelica Schuyler, notified her followers on Instagram of the special event with joy and excitement. Tickets for the fundraiser range from basic admission into the live discussion to a personal one on one discussion with an actor/actress of your choice. Goldsberry and her castmates Johnathan Groff and Phillipa Soo all quickly had sold out time slots for these meet and greets.
As a Ham cast, we’ve formed a coalition to amplify America’s unheard voices. On 08/1 check out our live fundraiser https://t.co/QWpkfLWJRg Join @michelleobama to get out your vote https://t.co/iqIY7f8oHd. Join us to change the course of history. We are #HAM4CHANGE.
