British singer-songwriter Jorja Smith released her newest song “By Any Means.”

Jorja Smith has collaborated with Roc Nation for the release of their single “By Any Means.” The singer talks about the issues of racial and social injustice that have gone on for far too long and praises the strength behind the Black Lives Matter movement.

“Won’t stay silent for things that I love.” “By any means, I will fight, for you, for you.”

The UK native first appeared in the music scene in 2018 after her groundbreaking debut album Lost & Found. After Lost & Found gained success at number three in the UK album charts, she won Best British Female Artist at the 2019 Brit Awards and nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. She has collaborated with numerous artists such as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and most recently, Burna Boy.

The singer is known for addressing social issues in her music. In her 2016 single “Blue Lights,” she sings about the issues revolving police brutality. In a statement with Variety, she expressed, “The inspiration behind ‘By Any Means’ really came from going to the Black Lives Matter protests and leaving thinking, what can I do to keep this conversation going?”

“By Any Means” is the lead single in Roc Nation’s Reprise, which is is a collection of songs with multiple artists coming together to let their voices be heard in musical protest. A portion of the proceeds will go to funding organizations that support victims of police brutality, hate crimes, and other violations of civil rights. The charity organizations are The Gathering for Justice, NACDL Foundation for Criminal Justice, Equal Justice Initiative, and the Legal Aid Society’s Cop Accountability Project.

There are no further details about what other artists will make a feature on the project, but we can’t wait for what’s to come. Make sure to listen to “By Any Means” on all streaming platforms and check out the official visual on YouTube.
