Sydney Sweeney Is Beginning Her First Project With Her Own Production Company Fifty-Fifty Films
Sydney Sweeney is launching her own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films, and is working on a special project.
Not only will Sweeney be starring in the new series, Players Table, she will also be an executive producer. The series is based on an upcoming novel by Jessica Goodman titled They Wish They Were Us, which is expected to be released on August 4. The novel centers around the character Jill Newman, a member of an exclusive secret society that rules the Long Island preparatory school she attends. During Jill’s freshman year, her best friend, Shaila Arnold, was believed to be killed by her boyfriend, Graham. Now a senior, Newman begins to receive texts that Graham was innocent, leading Newman to investigate and uncover the truth about Shaila’s death.
“Starting Fifty-Fifty Films has been a goal of mine for a long time,” Sweeney said. “When I read They Wish They Were Us I was instantly drawn to the specificity of the world and the struggles of the character – and I knew it was the first project I wanted to produce.”
Sweeney will be starring as Jill Newman in Players Table and will be working alongside filmmaker, Jean-Marc Vallee, and film producer, Nathan Ross. She previously worked with Jean-Marc Valee and Nathan Ross on the Emmy-nominated Sharp Objects on HBO.
Sweeney also plays Cassie Howard in the teen drama HBO series Euphoria, which was renewed for a second season and nominated for six Emmys. She will next be seen in the upcoming supernatural horror film Nocturn and the upcoming erotic thriller film The Voyeurs.
