Rising rapper Mulatto is making big moves after releasing her highly anticipated single “Muwop,” featuring Gucci Mane.

With ladies dominating the rap industry, it was only a matter of time for another female lead to join the movement. Mulatto (Alyssa Stephens) first rose to stardom after winning the Lifetime reality series The Rap Game in 2016. After the show, the rapper decided she wanted to pursue her career as an independent artist and began releasing numerous EP’s and singles.

In 2019, the Georgia native released her single “B***h from da Souf” and gained instant praise from different artists, including Saweetie, and Trina who both joined on the remix. She later released her EP under RCA records Hit the Latto with singles “No Hook” and “He Say She Say,” while gaining over a million streams on Spotify.

“Muwop” is the first official single from her after signing her record label debut with RCA records. The rapper sampled Gucci Mane’s 2008 song “Freaky Gurl” and shared with fans the collaboration. The rapper shared in a press release, stating that Gucci is her favorite rapper of all time and knew he had to join in on the song. “When I got the text that Gucci recorded a verse for the song, I started screaming!” Before the release of the song, Mulatto also paid tribute to her favorite rapper by recreating images from his albums and mixtapes. The music video features the two relaxing by the pool on a hot day in Miami.

With the video trending number one on YouTube, many artists and fans are loving the new song. We can’t wait to see what Mulatto does next in her career. Make sure to keep up with her on her social media and check out the music video for “Muwop” on YouTube.
