Celebrities Grieve for Beirut and Implore Support Following the City’s Tragic Disaster

From Hollywood to music moguls, stars have been using social media to amplify calls for action in Lebanon after a devastating explosion rocked the capital.

Celebrities have been sharing their love for Lebanon following a horrifying explosion at a chemical factory in the city of Beirut on August 4. The cause of the explosion is currently unknown but the damage is already known to be widespread and extensive, with 150 reported fatalities and thousands of injuries so far.

The disaster has triggered an outpouring of grief from celebs and civilians alike, compelling some of Hollywood’s biggest stars to utilize their platforms by raising awareness of recent events.

Highlighting how the explosion is the latest in a stream of tragic events to have struck Lebanon, Adriana Lima asked “When does it stop? How far it will go?,” grievous words echoed by likes of Kim Kardashian, Priyanka Chopra, and Naomi Campbell.

Taking to Twitter yesterday, Halsey also reached out to her 13 million followers for advice on how best to provide support, later imploring fans to donate to the Lebanese Red Cross who have been working tirelessly to channel aid into the country.
