Joji and Diplo Drop Single ‘Daylight’

Joe Larkin

Joji and Diplo have recently teamed up to release their new single called “Daylight.”

This humorous and fun style of the music video is just what you would expect from this collaboration. As the single premiered, Joji talks about how their hope in its creation was to bring light to people during this dark time. “It might be nice for people to hear a song about daylight, especially when we don’t get as much of it as we used to,” Joji said. Diplo also talked about how excited he was to be able to work with Joji. Diplo stated, “Joji is one of my favorite artists. I’m lucky he answered my text!”

The music video features an elderly boy band who seems to be high maintenance and hard to please. Joji and Diplo are both working as studio assistance to help set up the boy band’s music video, but despite their best efforts they get fed up and disregard the hard to manage band to show off their talent. This ultimately ends up getting them on the director’s bad side. In around the last-minute Joji is shown to be camping out in a desert surrounded by machines, this has a similar vibe to the “Gimme Love” music video, so maybe there is a connection there.

Along with Joji’s other recent singles, “Gimme Love,” “Run,” and ‘Sanctuary,” “Daylight” is part of Joji’s upcoming album called Nectar. It is said to drop on September 25, so mark your calendars and start counting down the days. In the meantime, you can listen to “Daylight” below.
