Victoria Monét Shows Her Wild Side on New Album ‘Jaguar’
Singer-Songwriter Victoria Monét just dropped her sultry debut album, Jaguar.
Known for her songwriting skills and close friendship with pop star Ariana Grande, Victoria Monét has stepped out from the shadows, ready to showcase her full talent. Monét’s rap sheet is long, having written many hits for bestie Ariana Grande, as well as, Fifth Harmony, Chrisette Michele, and Chris Brown.
Her writing repertoire has already earned her two Grammy nominations for Album of the Year and Record of the Year for co-producing Ariana Grande’s Album Thank U, Next, and the song “7 Rings”. Now it is Victoria’s time to shine, however, Jaguar is not her first studio release.

Monét has also released four EP’s: Nightmares & Lullabies Parts 1 and 2 and Life After Love Parts 1 and 2. The Aug 7 debut came after the artist released two highly anticipated singles, “Moment” and “Experience” featuring singer Khalid. Fans have already shared the love for the new album, which has songs being featured in Apple Music’s R&B Now playlist.

Though the album only has nine songs, Monét’s voice soothes you slowly through themes of self-empowerment and sexuality with a 70’s vibe throughout. There has been much conversation about whether R&B is dead, but with Monét stepping forward as a queer black woman with the voice of an angel, she is a representation of what genre can become. If this is what Victoria Monét has to offer with her debut, we cannot wait to see what she will bring to the charts in the years to come.
