You Can Buy Kaia Gerber’s ‘Dream Pant’ and 20% of Proceeds Will Go to Charity
Model Kaia Gerber collaborated with Bleusalt, a Malibu-based luxe loungewear brand, to create what Gerber considers the ultimate leggings for quarantine.
The “Kaia” Pant is a high-waisted bell-bottomed legging that comes in five colors – black, navy, white, camel, and heather gray for $130. Gerber called them her “dream pant” and stated that she has “lived in these pants all of quarantine” on a recent Instagram story. Twenty percent of proceeds from each pant will be donated to A Sense of Home, an organization that aims to prevent homeless by supplying housing and furniture to those who have aged out of the foster care system.
The “Kaia” Pant is modeled by former foster youth and foster youth advocate Chy Mellow, who has a personal connection with A Sense of Home. After aging out of the foster care system, Mellow secured an apartment, but she “felt this emptiness, and there wasn’t a feeling of home yet” because she didn’t have any furniture. It all changed when A Sense of Home provided her with furniture, and now Mellow pays it forward by volunteering with A Sense of Home.
“I’m thankful to Bleusalt, and I’m thankful for A Sense of Home for all that they’re doing for the former foster youth community, and I hope that this really impacts former foster youth is this really scary time,” said Mellow in a video posted to Bleusalt’s Instagram.
Bleusalt was launched in 2017 by photographer-turned-designer Lyndie Benson, and the brand’s clothes are made from fiber derived from beechwood tree pulp. This means that all of Bleusalt’s clothes are super-soft, sustainable, and breathable. Gerber’s mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, has collaborated with Bleusalt before, creating The “Cindy Pant,” which comes in ten colors and costs $160.
