Billboard Announced Drake Makes Hot 100 History Again

Just last year rap icon Drake tied with The Beatles, this year he passes them with the most Top 10s on the Hot 100 in Billboard’s history.

“I got more slaps than the Beatles” was an iconic line by Drake from the smash, “Going Bad” featuring fellow rapper Meek Mill. When the song was released in 2019, he had just passed the iconic group by one track earning 35 Top 10 Hits, but still, Madonna had held the No. 1 title with 38. It has only taken 12 months to knock Madonna to the number two slot. Madonna held this record for almost 20 years. Billboard has recently announced that Drake broke the record for the most Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hits in history.

As of July 2020, Drake tops the list with a historic 40 Top 10 songs, including his latest two chart-toppers “Popstar” and “Greece.” Both songs were produced by DJ Khaled and made it to No. 3 and No. 8 on the charts, respectively. Drake has now pushed legendary artists like Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey down the list, but this success is well earned. All five albums released by the rapper have gone platinum, debuting at number one in the U.S. and Canada, the star’s home country. His last album, Scorpion, peaked at number one in nine countries. Drake recently announced that his sixth studio album titled, Skeleton, King is due out at the end of August with a meme on Instagram.

This will be the artist’s first album released under his label OVO since the ending of his contract with Cash Money Records. The much-anticipated album is sure to have even more chart-toppers, with hints of songs featuring Rihanna, Bruno Mars, and his mentor Lil Wayne. We cannot wait to see how long the global star will hold the top spot on Billboard charts as it seems Drake just cannot be stopped.
