Check Out New York City’s Newly-Opened Sour Patch Kids Store
Sour Patch Kids lovers just got a whole lot luckier as New York City opens it’s first-ever Sour Patch Kids store, giving candy-cravers a whole new sour-experience.
In honor of the Sour Patch Kids 35th anniversary, New York City opened up their first-ever Sour Patch Kids store. This candy-heaven is located at 665 Broadway, New York, NY. In other words, it can be found right between the SoHo Shopping district and NYU’s Washington Square campus.
The company’s brand manager, Danielle Freid, announced, “We’re excited for the Kids to bring their playful, sour-then-sweet attitude to the Big Apple and make their mark with the first-ever Sour Patch Kids store.”
“We created this new experience for our fans to engage with the Sour Patch Kids brand on a whole new level, but of course understand that these are uncertain times,” Freid said. “With this store as our new permanent home, we want our fans to know that the Kids aren’t going anywhere. We welcome visitors to join us for a colorful, flavorful experience whenever they’re ready to explore the city again.”
Besides sour-then-sweet candies, the store also offers a variety of special-edition merchandise such as shirts, socks, mugs, and totes.
The store is operated by IT’SUGAR, which according to their website, is “a candy store that specializes in innovative sweets, fun novelty gifts, and giant candy.” At the Sour Patch store, customers get the chance to take photos, try a variety of “sour-then-sweet” twists on everyday desserts such as cookies and ice cream, and even make their own candies.
CEO of IT’SUGAR, Jeff Rubin, said, “It’s incredibly exciting to collaborate with Mondelēz International as we launch the World’s First SOUR PATCH KIDS branded Store.”
Due to opening during the occurring coronavirus pandemic, the maximum capacity of the store has been significantly lowered to promote social distancing while inside. All employees and customers must wear face coverings in the store.
For those not local to New York City, the company offers an online experience where people can create personalized Sour Patch Kids and easily get them shipped to their location.
