The Music Video for Andy Grammer’s ‘Wish You Pain’ Is Guaranteed to Leave You in Happy Tears
In his latest music video, the singer challenged fans to open up about their most painful experiences and how they grew from them–check it out.
Andy Grammer is giving a whole new meaning to the aphorism, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
While out on tour last year, the artist asked fans to share their most painful experiences as well as the growth that followed. The result: the music video for “Wish You Pain.”
The music video shows that stories of tragedy to triumph include people from all walks of life and all ages. “I’ve been in a constant battle against Cystic Fibrosis along with my best friends,” a young teen told Grammer. “Watching them pass away, I’ve learned to live life to the fullest, not taking a single moment for granted.”
It’s a sentiment Grammer knows well. In 2009, his mother, Kathy, passed away following her battle with breast cancer. He told E! News, “When difficult things come your way, you can start to say, ‘What am I going to get from this?'”
The answer: a lot. Grammer shared that making the “Wish You Pain” video was a huge learning experience for him and that he felt energized hearing such heartbreaking tales night after night. “It showed me there is no struggle too intense that doesn’t have a lesson to teach you,” he said. “We’re all superheroes in our own unique ways because of the struggle we’ve been through.”
And the singer is not the only one who felt inspired by the stories shared in the music video. Shortly after its release, fans took to Twitter to express their love for the project.
