Jackie Aina is making #herstory by producing a feature-length film about fierce Black women demanding visibility for people of color in the cosmetic industry.

The bold beauty influencer Jackie Aina is scheduled to executive produce and star in a revolutionary film about daring social-justice warriors within the beauty industry. Her forthcoming film will focus on challengers, disruptors, and thought leaders within the cosmetic sphere who are passionate about transforming archaic, exclusive Eurocentric beauty standards. These beauty moguls are refashioning and modernizing the mainstream beauty market to create an enterprise that promotes inclusivity, diversity, and ethicality. These mission-driven moguls champion consumers of all shades, shapes, and sexual orientations; they are simultaneously expanding their clientele and redefining traditional beauty ideals.

A medley of well-established boss ladies are set to assist in the actualization of this legendary film. High-profile figures such as the acclaimed actress Andrea Lewis (Degrassi: The Next Generation), director Kwanza Nicole Gooden (Centric’s Being) and Emmy-nominated producers CJ Faison (Giants) and Takara Joseph (Giants and Project Involve Fellow) will collaborate with Aina on the Social Beauty documentary. Fellow influencers Cydnee Black, Alissa Ashley, Whitney White, Shalom Blac and Nyma Tang will also participate in the project. These big thinkers are committed to collaboration, camaraderie, and collective hard work without egos or pretense. They continue to use their impressive platform and prestige to attract attention to their cause and advocate for traditionally discounted consumers.

Aina commented on the project, “I’m so excited to be a part of something that shows our impact as black women in beauty…I hope through this project people will see that so many of us are passionate, multifaceted, and more than what you see outwardly…”

Fiona Crystal of Digitaldash PR revealed in a statement that this refreshingly relevant, radical documentary will accentuate “the success and impact of everyday Black women, turned top social media influencers dominating the mainstream beauty market and changing its standards, one tutorial at a time.”

The public praises Aina for paving the way for Black beauty influencers and demanding visibility for people of color in the cosmetic sphere.

This upcoming film comes at a time where Black Americans, especially Black women, are struggling to exist in a hostile, white-washed world. We are grappling with systemic racism and engaging in a meaningful, long-deferred national discussion regarding racial disparity and police brutality. Hopefully, this film will continue to educate viewers on racial intolerance and push the public to do better, to continue reaching for racial equity.
