Author and Comedian Sarah Cooper Lands First Netflix Special
Best known for lip-syncing political soundbites on TikTok and Twitter, Comedian Sarah Cooper has just gotten her very first Netflix special.
Born in Jamaica, but raised in Maryland, Cooper started her career as an author. After graduating from both the University of Maryland and Georgia Institute of Technology, Cooper wrote 100 Tricks to Appear Smart in Meetings and How to Be Succesful Without Hurting Men’s Feelings. Cooper then branched out and began doing stand-up comedy, all while working as a digital designer for Google.
It’s true! I’m getting a Netflix special! And I couldn’t have done it without all your support, THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️❤️❤️

This year during the downtime that ensued from COVID-19, Cooper gained fame by doing short videos of her lip-syncing interview clips of Donald Trump. The clips were not well received by the President, as noted in the comedian’s Twitter bio, “#blockedbytrump.” However, the funny shorts brought some positive recognition to the rising jokester, as she announced this week that she will be starring in a variety special of her own.

This comes after she had the opportunity to guest host for Jimmy Kimmel Live! where she joked about almost being selected to be Joe Biden’s running mate over Senator Kamala Harris. The special may be coming at the perfect time, as TikTok, the app that brought Cooper’s newfound fame hangs in the balance of being banned in the country.
Cooper has a charming way of bringing relief and comedy to dark times and unforeseen circumstances, making what can seem dreary, sound funny. There has been no release date for the special, Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine just yet, but we are sure that Cooper will keep us entertained until then.
