On Tuesday, Aug. 11, Joe Biden shared his choice for Vice President, and actress, Sophia Bush has spoken about her thoughts on Kamala Harris.

Kamala Harris is the current United States Senator from California, where she has been serving since 2017. If Biden and Harris were to win in this upcoming election, Harris would make history. She would not only be the first female vice president, but also the first African American vice president. The pair is winning over influencers and politicians all around the country.

Sophia Bush starred as Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill for nine seasons. Recently, she’s been using her platform on social media to raise awareness of the issues at hand. Over the past few months, she’s been sharing posts and resources for the Black Lives Matter movement, including photos of her at protests. It was no surprise that when Joe Biden announced Kamala Harris as his pick for Vice President, Sophia was one of the first to endorse Harris.

Get you a campaign surrogate who looks at you the way I look at Senator @kamalaharris 😍 Here’s a little slideshow of me professing my admiration and adoration for her. Madame (soon to be) Vice President, it is an honor to be your constituent, and to have advocated alongside you (bringing up the rear let’s be honest but HONORED to be there!) for protections for our nation’s children. Thank you for having such a strong moral compass. For being steadfast in your beliefs that we can achieve our ideals. For your toughness on the issues. And for your expertise at breaking glass ceilings. Your gumption, compassion, intelligence, ambition, and heart are exactly what the country deserves. I’m elated. And I’m not crying y’all, maybe you’re crying!? Let’s gooooo! #KAMALA #KamalaHarris #BidenHarris2020 • And for anyone wondering what’s happening in these photos (that my super talented best mate @kennyjamez took), I got to spend some quality time with Senator Harris in Iowa just before the Iowa State Fair last year. We were advocating on behalf of @everytown, demanding that lawmakers protect our students. Senator Harris took time out of her busy day to discuss my personal connections to this issue, her thoughts about national action, how much we both love California, and more. She was brilliant, warm, and incredibly motivated. She left me inspired. And she made me laugh in moments when the conversation took more “everyday life stuff” turns. Her commitment to the issues, and to the truth, and to US is an incredible measure of her character. I am grateful for her.

Bush posted a series of photos on Instagram of the two of them meeting and having a conversation while advocating for the non-profit organization, Everytown for Gun Safety, last year in Des Moines, Iowa. Everytown for Gun Saftey is a movement to end gun violence in the United States, with the hope of building safer communities and spreading awareness about gun safety.

In her post, Bush shares all of the reasons she endorses her and thanks her for her morals and beliefs. Bush ends the post by saying “I am grateful for her”.
