Yungblud Just Dropped ‘Lemonade’ With Denzel Curry and It’s the Collab You Didn’t Know You Needed

Alternative rocker Yungblud teamed up with rapper, Denzel Curry, for the most surprising late summer hit, “Lemonade.”

Yungblud is no stranger to working with other artists. In fact, some of his most prominent work has been collaborations with Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds, Machine Gun Kelly, Marshmello, and his ex-girlfriend, Halsey.

The UK-born performer has expanded his growing list of successful musical partnerships by working with Denzel Curry on his latest single.

“Lemonade” is just under three minutes and plays up the strengths of both acclaimed artists.

Yungblud’s verses are pop-punk infused with an urban edge, which is not surprising since he has been known to craft some hip-hop beats and toe the line of rapping in some of his solo work.

“You look like a twisted Robin Hood, do you take from the rich and the poor and us?” Yungblud questions.

Denzel’s verse is faster with a more cohesive rhyme scheme, proving his capabilities as a rapper and a lyricist yet again.

The Florida native asks some questions in the song, too, rapping, “Thinking, what type of knowledge don’t sink in? Life gives you lemons and my only thought is drinking.”

The layered vocals from both artists throughout the track highlight Yunglud’s lyrics, but it’s Denzel who drives them home, acting as a hype man yelling out “Lemonade” and “Down for what?”

Fans of both artists don’t quite know how the two crossed paths, but with this fun, introspective new song being the outcome, none of them seem to be complaining.

The song was teased throughout the week with lemons appearing on both artists’ social media, which seems to play up the theme of fruit songs this summer.

Harry Styles just reached number one with his hit song “Watermelon Sugar,” and even Yungblud himself just released a track titled “Strawberry Lipstick.”

Fruit references aside, Yungblud and Denzel Curry working together is a stellar combination that resulted in “Lemonade,” a slick, urban punk track that will take us right into the fall.
