Alicia Keys Released a New Song That Features Khalid
Alicia Keys and Khalid release a new song called, “So Done,” which is a new anthem about living life how you want to.
Just as Keys said, the duo has put everyone in a “trance.” This soulful R&B bop was raw and exactly the high note everyone needed to end on before summer is officially over.
Actress Sasha Lane stars in visuals from the music video, which compliment the meaning of the song perfectly. The duo is shown performing at a school dance where Lane roams around alone. Lane seems to feel out of place until a group of nonconforming bikers show up and create chaos. They hand her a leather jacket symbolizing her taking her own life into her hands. She agrees to their offer and she gets whisked away into the night.
So many people feel loneliest when they are in a group of people because they feel as if they don’t belong. In the music video, they played with this idea and how empowering it is to just roll with it. Embracing who you are and showing everyone you don’t care about what they think allows you to feel a sense of freedom.

The meaning behind this mellow song can be applied to almost everyone’s life. The duo is “So Done” with other people or societal norms trying to control their life. “I’m living the way I want,” which the duo sings in the chorus should become a new mantra.
This song will be included on Key’s upcoming album, ALICIA, which is scheduled to be released later in 2020.
