LeBron James and Los Angeles Dodgers Team Up to Convert Dodger Stadium Into a Voting Center

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that they will team up with NBA star LeBron James to turn the Dodgers Stadium into a voting center for the upcoming presidential election.
The MLB team announced on Thursday that they will be teaming up with James to turn their stadium into a voting center for the November election. This will be the first time an MLB stadium has opened its doors to be a voting center.
The voting center will be open for five days and will offer free parking to any registered voter in Los Angeles County. Of course, social distancing guidelines will be enforced. Nothing was mentioned regarding any mask requirements, but further details will be announced later.
The team is partnering with More Than A Vote, a non-profit organization of Black athletes and artists, including James, which aims to educate and encourage young people to vote. They also work to combat voter suppression in the Black community.
Thank you @Dodgers and @DAVIDprice24 for bringing MLB into this important initiative. Who got next? @Morethanavote #BlackLivesMatter https://t.co/qYAUY30T3M

James is no stranger to activism and humanitarian work and has been vocal about equality for Black people in recent years. He’s shown his support for Black Lives Matter and has also been fighting for justice for Breonna Taylor, a Black woman who was murdered by a Louisville police officer earlier this year.

James has been criticized for his involvement in political issues and has even been told by a Fox News anchor to “stick to dribbling,” but that hasn’t stopped James from voicing his opinion and using his platform to bring awareness and change to the issues he cares about.
We are excited to see athletes and activists like James using their platform to help support equality in our nation. You can visit vote.org to register to vote and find everything you need to know about voting in the upcoming election.
