Netflix Is Trying Out a Shuffle Button for Your Convenience
You won’t have to spend hours scrolling through Netflix anymore.
You’ve been there before, scrolling through countless shows and movies not knowing what to watch next. Suddenly one day you launch your Netflix and see a new feature. If you have already seen the new feature, the “Shuffle Play” button, on your Netflix home screen, it’s because Netflix is planning on bringing that feature full-time. That’s right, you’ll no longer have to fight with your partner, friends or family over what to watch. The feature is currently available for TV devices.
I’ve been saying Netflix needed a shuffle button for years and today my dreams have finally become a reality 🥺

Several users noticed the option on their Netflix account and shared their discovery on Twitter. The shuffle button appears on the home screen and below the user’s profile. The feature will choose a selection based on your viewing history and preferences. According to The Verge, the company has been testing Shuffle Play since July. Since the feature is still on beta, we don’t know if all users will have access to it.
I could think of nothing I want less from Netflix than a shuffle button https://t.co/2Nh7D5nc8g

Many have conflicting responses to this feature, some see it as a blessing and others are wondering why they should allow Netflix to choose for them. They are also concerned about the content Netflix would recommend. In other words, will it only push its content completely leaving the other studio’s content behind? Who knows, maybe this feature won’t make it past its testing phase, despite Netflix’s confirmation.
Time will only tell if this new feature will make a permanent stay on Netflix’s platform.
