Williams is seen walking on stage as if to perform a usual comedy routine, but he shocks viewers as his words turn political, not comical. However, there is no one in the audience, due to the ongoing pandemic.

Williams, who has starred in popular Black comedies like Friday After Next, First Sunday and Norbit, decided to step out of the spotlight for the past few years after several hardships and run-ins with the law.

This isn’t necessarily the type of content fans expected to see once he returned, but many are happy that he decided to voice his opinion and speak up on an important issue.

Williams attempts to provide relief and comfort to those grappling with both anger and anxiety regarding racial injustice as well as the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and how it’s been handled by the government. He makes it clear that he does not support President Trump and criticized his attempts to control the virus in recent months. “I’ve already done more than an elected official,” he says.

Williams also emphasized the importance of voting in the upcoming presidential election, adding that if voters are unsure of which candidate to choose to write his name in, referencing the video’s title, Katt Williams, 2020.

He wanted to make it known that he supports the recent riots and protests against police brutality, and says that that’s a normal reaction to when people in a democratic society are being mistreated. Williams urges the Black community to continue their fights because change will come and racism will be eradicated no matter what it takes. He also encourages white people to join the movement and work toward racial equality.

Even though he wasn’t cracking his usual jokes, Williams still managed to bring about relief and give hope during such hectic and troubling times. To register to vote and get more information about voting in your area, you can visit vote.org.
