Carly Rae Jepsen Drops New Single ‘Me and the Boys in the Band’
Carly Rae Jepsen released a new song and a quarantine music video featuring the guys in her band.
On August 17, Jepsen posted a clue to her Instagram that something new was in the works.
The next day, she released her new song, “Me and the Boys in the Band.” She described this single as “a different kind of love song” and explains how much she misses touring with her band members that she has become so close with.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, musical artists have had to hold off on traveling around the world to perform live shows. Luckily, many have come up with creative ways to continue putting out music and content for their listeners, including Jepsen.

Along with her new single, Jepsen released a unique quarantine music video that features herself and her band members in their respective homes, jamming out. Aside from these at-home clips, the video also includes some photo and video footage of their time together on tour. The video reminisces on the musician’s past experiences and relishes in the hope of being able to tour together again.
Known for her 2012 hit “Call Me Maybe,” Jepsen recently just celebrated the five year anniversary of her album Emotion.
The singer also has been using her platform to show support to the Black Lives Matter Movement and providing information for her followers on where to donate. She also supports the LGBTQ+ community and created a playlist with Mark Kanemura during Pride month called “Music Is Universal.”
Jepsen’s new song “Me and the Boys in the Band” is now available to stream and we love that she was able to give us some new music to jam to despite the challenging circumstances.
