Ben Affleck to Return as Batman for ‘Flash’ Movie
Ben Affleck is set to reprise his role as Batman for DC’s Flash movie starring Ezra Miller.
Affleck will be playing the cape curator alongside Michael Keaton’s Batman from the 1989 Tim Burton film. The pair will be joining Ezra Miller, who is set to continue his portrayal of Barry Allen, and director Andy Muscietti, best known for his work on 2017’s IT.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Muscietti revealed that Affleck’s portrayal of the Dark Knight plays a significant, emotional role within the film.
“He’s a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie. The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before,” Muscietti said. “It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in.”
Muscietti also spoke about his excitement to collaborate with the Gone Girl actor.
“I’m glad to be collaborating with someone who has been on both sides of the camera, too,” Muschietti said. “He understands.”
For DC’s FanDome event, the director shared a sneak peek of the film with the reveal of new concept art.
The Ezra Miller led Flash is set to release in 2022. We can’t wait for future news on the project and will be anxiously awaiting a release date.
