Leslie Odom Jr. and More Star in ‘Love in the Time of Corona’ Now Streaming on Hulu
Broadway star Leslie Odom Jr. brings all the feels in Freeform’s new Love in the Time of Corona, a four-part series about connections made during a pandemic that has changed the world.
The romantic comedy premiered on Freeform in late August and follows the love story of four couples who are experiencing love during the ups and downs of the COVID-19 quarantine.

What makes the series so special is that some of the actors are real-life couples. Odom Jr. plays opposite his actual wife, Nicolette Robinson. The couple weighs the pros and cons of having a second child, while also being painfully aware of facing two pandemics, COVID and systemic racism, amid the death of Ahmaud Arbery. Another real family is played by Gil Bellows (Ally McBeal), his wife Rya Kihlstedt, and their daughter Ava Bellows, who tell the story of separating during the quarantine and trying to protect their daughter from the truth of the demise of their relationship. The series also touches on virtual love with Netflix star Tommy Dorfman, and elder love with actress L. Scott Caldwell.

If you question how you can safely film a series about COVID in the middle of the outbreak itself, know that precautions were taken. Not only was everyone working on the show tested for the virus, but Odom and Robinson shot from their own house, in their clothes, and were responsible for their hair and make-up. The crew on set stayed in tents and communication was done with walkie-talkies, showing that the industry can still get work done during these crazy times.
