RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars icon, Naomi Smalls, is getting her own spotlight in a new show with Voss Events, The Small World Show.

After being pushed to the side for most of her time on Drag Race, Smalls is finally ready to be the star of her own show, and tell her story from her perspective, and not the watered-down version we’ve seen on reality tv.

Smalls is using this opportunity to not only give us incredible lip-sync numbers, but also a candid documentary-style look into her life as well as deep-dive into her story.

The Small World Show has been apart of Smalls’ vision from the beginning. The process of conceptualizing the show is because she wanted to stick to the ambitions she set for herself since before she even appeared on Drag Race. By having her own project outside of the reality TV world, she could do things she genuinely loved instead of being steered in a certain direction by producers.

Quarantine and being in isolation actually helped her realize what her passions are: performing, conceptualizing and art directing. Therefore leading her to push to make a solo project. Before the pandemic, she even had a Youtube series with a similar concept called Smalls World.

Not only is Smalls giving us an intimate look into her life and how far she has come, but she is also giving us some stellar performances that could be an entire show on its own.

She begins the show with a beautiful performance of Beyonce’s “Before I Let Go” while transforming into Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam and Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, where smalls plays both Adam and Venus.

Smalls also honors her mother, who she has said is her biggest supporter, with a dedicated performance of “Hey Mama” by Kanye West. She also pays tribute to Lady Gaga, with a show-stopping performance of “Dance in the Dark.”
