On August 28, actor and producer, Tika Sumpter, will be co-hosting an online summit with Thai Randolph. The two women are co-founders of their own media company Sugaberry. The company focuses on creating articles, podcasts, and other events for Black mothers. The women speak freely about their own falls and triumphs within motherhood, to open up a safe outlet for Black mothers to talk about all their wants, hopes, and struggles. Sumpter and Randolph hope that the media platform does not only provide resources for its viewers but serves as a safe haven for Black women to express and talk about their experiences with one another and to form a close-knit community.

The two will be hosting a virtual event on Friday, August 28. The Milk and Suga summit will serve as a place for women to come and have honest conversations about Black motherhood. The pair have also invited a  multitude of different doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to come and add to the conversation with their expertise.

Both Sumpter and Randolph have taken to social media to highlight the event, as well as through the company’s social media. They have also started a photo and article series on Sugaberry, which showcases gorgeous pictures of breastfeeding Black mothers while opening up the conversation for mothers to talk about their own breastfeeding stories.
