Zoe Sugg Promotes New Campaign, Digital Detox Day
Zoe Sugg, the UK YouTuber, and Vlogger, better known as Zoella, has recently partnered with the organization “I am Whole” to campaign for a Digital Detox Day. Zoe recently posted a video to social media with “I am Whole” co-founder, Jordan Stephens with a surprise collaboration that fans were not expecting and that Sugg admits has been in the works pre-COVID.
The video showcases the pair talking about how excessive use of our phones and social media can take a major strain on one’s mental health, as people often feel uncomfortable or anxious when leaving their phones at home. Sugg and Stephens explain how without set boundaries, electronics can take over our day to day lives. They are also very careful to reassure fans that social media and electronics are not evil, however, we need to make sure they are not in control of our lives. They have come together to start a campaign entitled, Digital Detox Day.
The Digital Detox Day campaign is also sponsored by the popular bath and beauty brand, Lush. Zoe Sugg has worked with Lush to design and create her new bath bomb that is raising funds for mental health charities and is currently available at Lush.
The campaign encourages people to take a break from our phones, or as they call it, a digital detox day. Sugg and Stephens encouraged people on September 5 to take to social media and post a picture with the hashtag, #DigitalDetoxDay, and then sign off on social media for the entire day.
