Celebrities Take Over Instagram Promoting COVID-19 Safety With Their Masked-Up Selfies
Check out our favorite celebrities rocking their face masks through Instagram selfies and inviting others to join in and do their part.
Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, face masks have become an essential part of our everyday wear. Masks help protect others from the spread of the virus even before symptoms appear. A recent study revealed if 80% of the population were to wear masks, it would be more effective at reducing the spread of COVID-19 than a strict lockdown, so masks play an important role in keeping us all safe.
Since restaurants and stores across the US have made masks a policy to wear one in order to enter, it can start to feel rather dull and boring pairing a plain black face mask with your outfit. Luckily, some of our favorite celebrities have proven that you don’t have to look bland to take a stand.
Jennifer Lopez recently took to Instagram to share a selfie of her on a bike ride through Central Park wearing a sparkly pink sequin mask from Revolve. She couldn’t have made a face mask look any more glamorous.
Vanessa Hudgens also shared a sparkling selfie of her wearing a stunning butterfly mask from the brand Masqd. The fun golden butterfly print paired perfectly with her outfit.
Storm Reid shared a selfie in her bright blue mask telling her followers to, “wear a darn mask because our lives depend on it”.
Reese Witherspoon happily posted a selfie as well wearing a red and white gingham print mask. Her face covering was simple, practical, and on-trend. She wrote about kindness and caring for everyone’s health and safety to top off the post.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared a picture of her in a black and white newspaper print sharing that it was her first time out in two months.

Popstar Lizzo, also known as Melissa Jefferson recently shared a picture of her vibrant tropical-themed faced mask paired with a matching bikini and gloves. The star proved your mask doesn’t have to clash with the rest of your style.
Jessica Alba also shared an outdoor selfie wearing a fun and playful cactus patterned mask. Not only is the actress showing her support in her Instagram selfie, but her mask is from her own company, The Honest Company. The brand recently launched protective cotton face masks for both adults and kids, and we’re happy to see Alba incorporating such an important item into her honest and ethical company.
As the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic continues, masks will most likely not go away anytime soon. We are all at our lowest risk by wearing masks, so it’s important to make sure to wear one whenever you’re out. These celebrities showed that they not only do their part on screen but also off-screen. They preached about the importance of protecting others and doing our part, all while looking glamorous at the same time, and we completely stand behind their message.
