FX Network chairman, John Landgraf has announced that filming for Donald Glover’s hit show, Atlanta will be delayed due to the current pandemic.

Previously, Landgraf revealed that the third season would premiere in January 2021, but with recent production shutdowns, a new premiere date is still up in the air.

Glover has already written the third and fourth season of the series, and the two are set to be filmed at the same time once production starts back. According to Variety, one season will be shot in Atlanta (like the previous seasons), while the other will require a change of scenery to Europe.

The series follows Earn (Glover) and his cousin Alfred (Brian Tyree Henry) as they try to make a name for themselves in the world of rap. The show also touches on social issues such as poverty, race, and toxic relationships.

Glover and Henry are joined by series regulars LaKeith Stanfield and Zazie Beetz. The previous season aired in 2018.

In 2017, the show won a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series for Glover. Glover was nominated again in 2019.
