The Cast of Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Give a Fan a Heartwarming Surprise
The cast of Frozen surprised a nurse for her wedding on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
On September 9, the cast from the critically acclaimed Frozen, gave a touching surprise to a Disney superfan, Kellie Merner. The segment was hosted by Josh Gad (who plays the famous snowman, Olaf) for Jimmy Kimmel’s Health Care Hero, in which he interviewed Merner about her life as a NICU nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Merner described how difficult life is for a nurse during this pandemic, detailing how she had to postpone her Disney-themed wedding (which was set to take place in June) to focus on her job. Merner states, “We just had to learn to adapt, to wear more PPE and go with how the wind changes. The biggest change has been our visitor policy.” She also describes how she and her fiancé are “obsessed” with Frozen, often singing “Love is an Open Door” with her step-mother even having an Olaf-themed bathroom.
That is so incredible!! I’ve had two girls in NICU and the nurses were truly a blessing. Even years after I reach out from time to time to say, “Thank you” for everything they did. Thank y’all for appreciating her!

Then over Zoom, Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Jonathan Groff came out to surprise Merner. Gad requested for each of his castmates to bring something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue for the bride to be.
Bell brought something borrowed, a 1,000 piece Golden Girls puzzle. Groff lent something old and gave Merner a stuffed Olaf plush. Menzel went above and beyond by giving Merner her blue Elsa gown that she wore at Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour as a guest performer. Finally, Gad gave $10,000 from Boomer Naturals.
The video is truly heartwarming and a gratifying “thank you” for the millions of health professionals risking their lives during this time. Be sure to check out more of Jimmy Kimmel’s Health Care Hero series to see more touching segments like this.
