The cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunited for a 30-year family reunion special with HBO Max.

Last month it was revealed that there was a reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in the works, putting fans in a frenzy. The iconic sitcom first debuted 30 years ago today and ran for six years, dominating the TV scene in the early 90s.

To commemorate the 30-year anniversary, the show’s cast has reunited for an HBO Max special that all fans of the show are excited about. The special has been described as funny, of course, and will feature music and dancing along with some surprise guests.

Earlier today, Will Smith posted a group selfie on the set of the special with his castmates Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Alfonso Ribeiro, and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Unfortunately, James Avery, who played Uncle Phil, passed away back in 2013, and we’re sure he’ll be missed during the anniversary special. Earlier this year, the cast paid tribute to Avery during a virtual reunion, which brought everyone to tears.

Smith also revealed that Jane Hubert, the original Aunt Viv, will also be featured in the HBO Max special, as the two sat down to speak for the first time in 27 years. Hubert was removed from the show in 1993 and replaced with Maxwell Reid after an alleged feud with Smith, which sparked controversy.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion Special is set to air on HBO Max around Thanksgiving, but no official date has been announced yet. Until then, you can stream all 148 episodes of the original show now available exclusively on HBO Max.
