Rachel Brosnahan is Set to Star in Upcoming Movie ‘I’m Your Woman’
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star will be time-hopping from the 1950s to the 1970s in the upcoming drama I’m Your Woman.
Brosnahan will be portraying Jean, a young woman on the run with her child from her toxic marriage with her husband. While on the run, Jean meets with a man and woman who help teach her more about life than just survival.
Most known for her role as comedian Midge Maisel, which has won her an Emmy and two Golden Globe awards, Brosnahan excels in period-pieces. She has also had roles in House of Cards (which earned her an Emmy nomination), Burn Country, The Finest Hour, Patriots Day, and Ironbark.
Directed and co-written by Julia Hart, the film is inspired by the 70s crime-drama genre, and to tell the stories of the women who usually stay at home. Hart’s goal is to show these women in a stronger role and to paint a portrait of a woman becoming her own person.
Hart co-wrote the movie with husband Jordan Horowitz (who is best known for producing La La Land). The duo is releasing the movie with Amazon Studios, their production company, Original Headquarters, and Big Indie Pictures.
Filming took place last year in Pittsburgh, PA. Brosnahan will be joined by cast-mates Arinze Kene, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Bill Heck, Frankie Faison, Marceline Hugot, and James McMenamin to star in the film.
I’m Your Woman is set to premiere Oct. 15 at the American Film Institute and in theatre’s Dec. 2020.
