Watch How Music From Artists Like Alicia Keys Is Made on New Netflix Show ‘Song Exploder’

The new Netflix original series Song Exploder will follow artists along in their process of creating music.

Netflix has just released a trailer for the upcoming series and the show will feature some of your favorite artists explaining how their well-known songs came to be.

Song Exploder will have host Hrishikesh Hirway and various musical artists provide a breakdown and backstory of popular songs.

In the trailer, we can see a few of the artists that will be featured including Alicia Keys, REM, Ty Dolla $ign, and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. Exclusive interviews, footage, and raw recordings of the songs will all be a part of the show.

This new show is based on the popular podcast Song Exploder which also shares the same premise. The podcast has been around since 2014, and there are nearly 200 episodes of it so far. Some of the musical artists that have been featured on the podcast include Sylvan Esso, Thundercat, The 1975, The Lumineers, Carly Rae Jepsen, Maggie Rogers, and Lorde.

Much like the podcast, the show seems to dive into a wide variety of musical genres, promising something interesting for all music listeners. The behind the scenes look at song development is sure to be informative and will make viewers look and listen to music in a whole new way.

The new docuseries Song Exploder will be available to stream on Netflix on October 2. In the meantime, you can listen to past podcast episodes, and keep an eye out for new ones.
