My Policeman is an adaption of Bethan Roberts’ popular novel by the same name that follows a policeman named Tom in the 1950s as he begins an illicit affair with a man named Patrick. In a marriage of convenience, Tom weds a schoolteacher named Marion who finds she must share her husband. Styles is in talks to take the lead role of Tom, while James is eyeing the role of his devoted wife, Marion.

Amazon closed the deal earlier this week and has Tony Award-winner Michael Grandage set to direct. Ron Nyswaner, who won an Oscar for his work on Philadelphia, has written the script for the film.

Fans have speculated Styles’ involvement with an adaption after he was photographed with Roberts’ novel in February.

Styles’ made his first acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s 2017 blockbuster Dunkirk and was just recently cast in Olivia Wilde’s New Line film titled Don’t Worry Darling starring Florence Pugh, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Pine.

James has an extensive acting portfolio, known most recently for her work in Baby Driver, and is currently starring opposite Armie Hammer in Netflix’s upcoming movie Rebecca.
