Five Latinx Artists You Need To Add To Your Playlist
It’s Hispanic Heritage Month, and you shouldn’t overlook these five Latinx artists that are on the rise to stardom.
In recent years, Latin music has trickled into the mainstream music industry, with the success of artists like Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and Ozuna. However, it’s important to acknowledge the Latinx artists that aren’t quite as well-known but should be.
If you’re looking for new artists to add to your playlist, these five Latinx singers will not leave you disappointed.
Empress Of
Honduran-American singer, Empress Of, released her first album Me back in 2015, but it wasn’t until she was featured on Blood Orange’s “Best To You” in 2016 that she began gaining popularity.
In 2018, she released her most successful album Us, with songs in both English and Spanish, and her popular single “When I’m With Him” was remixed by Perfume Genius. Empress Of’s latest album, I’m Your Empress Of, includes hits like “Love Is A Drug” and “Give Me Another Chance.” You can stream Empress Of’s music now on all music streaming platforms.
Kali Uchis
Kali Uchis has become quite popular over the past few years. The Colombian-born singer has been featured on Tyler, The Creator’s “See You Again” and Daniel Caesar’s “Get You,” making her a radio sensation. After her successful first hit single “Loner,” her highly anticipated album Isolation lived up to its expectations.
Kali Uchis has played large music festivals like Coachella and fans are anxious to see what else she has in store. Earlier this year, she released her EP To Feel Alive to keep fans satisfied until she releases her next album, which has been pushed back due to COVID-19. While we wait, you can stream To Feel Alive and the rest of her music now.
¿Téo?
Colombian-American artist ¿Téo? has soothing vocals that are hard to dislike. The singer first became known for being best friends with Jaden Smith and the brother of Hannah Montana’s Moises Arias, but after the release of his self-titled debut album back in 2018, ¿Téo? proved that he has talent of his own.

The album featured a collab with Smith called “Uno Dos” that fans loved, and just this week he released a new single “Suplicar.” You can stream “Suplicar” and the rest of ¿Téo?’s music now.
Helado Negro
Helado Negro has a unique sound that the music industry hasn’t heard, and the Ecuadorean-American singer’s voice is sure to win you over. The folk singer has played Coachella, and he was featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.
His most well-known song “Running” is sure to leave you mesmerized, and at 40 years old, Helado Negro is living proof that we can reach success at any age. Be sure to stream “Running” and the rest of Helado Negro’s music now.
Elena Rose
Venezuelan singer Elena Rose is still an up-and-coming artist, with her first songs “Sandunga” and “Fenomenal” just being released this year. Not only is she a talented singer, but Elena Rose has also written songs for other Hispanic artists like Mexican-American singer Becky G.
Elena Rose has yet to release her first album, but fans are beyond ready for its release. In the meantime, be sure to listen to Elena Rose’s songs that are available on music streaming platforms now.
Hispanic Heritage Month ends on October 15, but that doesn’t mean that our support for Hispanic artists has to end there. You can listen to Empress Of, Kali Uchis, ¿Téo?, Helado Negro, and Elena Rose to help get you through the rest of quarantine.
