Rei Ami Signs With Visionary Records and Teases Her Upcoming Single ‘Mac and Cheese’
Alternative pop singer Rei Ami has officially signed with Visionary Records.
Rising star, Ami, has been keeping us at the edge for our seats ever since the release of her single “Snowcone.” Her transitions and vocals, combined with her personality, has us yearning for more. Thankfully, we are getting what we asked for. Visionary Records has signed Ami and the label teases a full mixtape from Ami in the coming months. While we wait for the mixtape, her first song through Visionary, titled “Mac and Cheese,” arrives on Friday, September 25.
“This is me in a song,” she tells Billboard. “I have a lot of chaotic energy inside, and I had to let it out. It’s a fun, confidence-boosting song that I want everyone to enjoy listening to!”
Ami was born in South Korea and raised in Maryland by a Christian family. She made her breakthrough last year with the hit single “Make It Mine.” The singer has soft vocals and swagger, combined with light and heavy symphony that have lead fans to compare her to popular singer, Billie Eilish.
As she rose to fame, her lifestyle gave her the nickname of Asian Hannah Montana. She started making music and still kept her job. No one at her workplace knew of her rise to fame until a fan asked for her during work hours. From that day on, she earned the nickname ‘Asian Hannah Montana.’
