Protests Break Out Across America Due to the Decision on the Breonna Taylor Case

On September 23, two of the three officers involved in the shooting and killings of Breonna Taylor walked away, not indicted.

On March 13, Louisville officers shot and killed 26-year-old Breonna Taylor as she was in her home. For months since her death, people have banded together, protesting Taylor’s death as her killers had not been arrested or tried.

As of September 23, a grand jury found only one of the officers, Brett Hankison was found guilty, though it had nothing to do with Taylor’s death. The other two officers involved in the shooting were not tried. Black Lives Matter protesters are outraged over the decision, sparking protests in Taylor’s home of Louisville, the night of the decision.

Though many states have set curfews, protests and demonstrations have spread across the US. In two days, over 100 protesters have been arrested and two Louisville police officers have been shot.
