Miller discusses how Boseman was one of the film’s producer and was actively looking to add her on to the team. However, she discloses how she was not looking to do any more filming due to the busy schedule she had recently ended. Nevertheless, Miller wanted to work alongside Boseman, because they both had admired each other.
As Miller joined the team, she asked for a salary number that the studio was unwilling to offer. This injustice caused Boseman to go beyond expectations and give part of his salary to increase hers.

Miller quotes Boseman saying, “You’re getting paid what you deserve, and what you’re worth.” She expressed in the interview how astonished and amazed she was because actions like this do not usually occur in Hollywood.
To shed light upon the salary gap between male and female actors, Miller discusses how she retells this story to other male actor friends. She described their reaction by saying, “they all go very, very quiet and go home and probably have to sit and think about things a while.” The wage gap is undoubtedly a well-known issue in this industry. Making people wonder how many more women have fallen into this trope.

Miller was unsure about retelling her experience with Boseman, but she knew it was a “testament to who he was.” She recognizes his actions as gracious and something no other man in the industry would willing do, especially without being asked. Miller knows Boseman did not do it to show off, but to honor the pay she deserved. That is the type of person Boseman was.
