BTS Takes Over ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ for an Entire Week

NBC

On September 28, BTS kicked off a week-long takeover of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Fallon is calling this event “BTS Week,” having the Korean group performing every night with a special interview this Wednesday, September 30.

Over the weekend, the group announced that their new album, BE, will release on November 30. The album’s deluxe edition is now available for preorder on the BTS website.

Along with this, the good news kept piling up as their single “Dynamite” made it to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart once again.

On Monday night, BTS followed Fallon’s usual monologue with a spectacular rendition of “Dynamite” with Fallon and The Roots. Due to the pandemic, members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook performed remotely in front of colorful backgrounds.

BTS closed the show with a performance of their 2018 hit “IDOL,” from the album Love Yourself: Answer. The pre-recorded live footage showcased the band in front of Geunjeongjeon Hall of the Gyeongbok Palace in Seoul. The band members were each wearing the traditional Korean hanbok giving it their modern twist. With blue spotlights and a vast harvest moon, BTS gave their fans an unforgettable and outstanding performance.

For their second night, the band performed their song “Home” from their EP Map of the Soul: Persona. This time Jimin starts the performance with a more intimate feel as the camera follows him inside an aesthetically pleasing home.

The performance proves to be a masterpiece of illusion with a blue hue scheme.

This time the group is sporting comfortable robes and pajamas, adding to the aesthetic of the performance. As the visual comes to an end, the members show their fun side as they dance around confetti-rain. The BTS Army has been showing their unconditional love on twitter for each performance.

They have received a well-earned music break from the group.

Don’t miss any second of this BTS week and set a reminder on The Tonight Show‘s YouTube channel for tonight’s performance.
