Nominations for the 2020 Latin Grammy Awards are in, and J Balvin and Bad Bunny lead the way with a total of 22 nods.

Earlier today, the nominations for the 21st Annual Latin Grammys were announced and it’s no surprise that Reggaeton stars J Balvin and Bad Bunny have the most nominations, since both musicians are arguably the biggest names in Latin music right now.

Not only do both have a high number of nominations, but Balvin also broke the record for having the most nominations in one show, bringing in a total of 13. Bad Bunny isn’t far behind with a total of nine.

Both stars have earned nominations for their solo projects, Balvin’s Colores and Bad Bunny’s YHLQMDLG, as well as their joint album released last year, OASIS. All three albums have earned a nomination in the Album Of The Year category.

Fans are happy with the nominations after the Latin Grammys came under fire in recent years for the lack of representation for Reggaeton and Latin trap artists. Balvin didn’t attend last year’s show in protest.

Another artist making history with their 2020 nominations is Nicky Minaj. She’s the first female rapper to ever be nominated at the Latin Grammys. She’s in the Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year categories for her feature on Karol G’s “Tusa.” Minaj’s fans are happy to hear the news, and they’re hoping the star takes home at least one award.

Ozuna, Rosalía, and Anuel AA are among the other artists with many nominations. This year’s show will be in Miami with virtual performances streaming from different parts of the world. Be sure to catch the 21st Annual Latin Grammy Awards on November 19 on Univision.
