Shawn Mendes is Finally Releasing New Music

Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes is finally releasing some new music for fans, including a single this Friday and a highly-anticipated album in December.

The singer who is known for hits including “In My Blood,” “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back,” and “Señorita” has gone a year without releasing music, his most recent single being “If I Can’t Have You.” Today, Mendes announced on his social media that he is releasing a single called “Wonder” on Friday, October 2 and an album in December.

Since the global coronavirus pandemic began, several musical artists including Billie Eilish, Machine Gun Kelly, Demi Lovato, and more have released new music. For about seven months now, Mendes has been quarantining with his girlfriend, singer and former Fifth Harmony member, Camila Cabello in Miami, Florida. In preparation for the release of his latest single, Mendes created a separate Instagram account for his new music and released some behind-the-scenes photos of the production of what looks to be a new music video.

In addition to writing and recording new music, during quarantine Mendes has also been quite vocal about his support for the Black Lives Matter movement. He and Cabello attended one of the protests in Florida, as well as encouraging fans to support the movement and fight for justice on their social media.

It’s an understatement to say that fans are excited about the release of Mendes’ new music. Fans from all over the globe have voiced their excitement on Twitter.
